8-8-23 Daily in the Word

  • "Here is a basic self-uplifting lesson. Write the following words down
on mind or paper: 'I must go through it.'

I must go through it. Explanation: That means you must have not just
one, but tens of thousands of new inner experiences. These new inner
experiences mean that you have to be willing to feel, to know through
    something different within.

You must be willing to go through a temporary but very definite
discomfort knowingly. Now what does that mean? It means that you have
cherished and lived from your pet theories, reactions. You have lived
from them and you have put the solid stamp of approval on them. You act
a certain habitual way to every challenge or experience that you have.

Your habit responses to life have kept you in prison. They have kept
you a tense worried, pacing back and forth human being, inwardly and
outwardly. You cling what you call for dear life, which is not life at
all, you cling ferociously to you, to your set standards of what is good
and bad, of what is favorable and unfavorable for you. So far your pet
living patterns have done nothing at all for you. You're not happy! You
fake it, and you don't even like to be told what I just told you, do
you? You don't like that. That proves that you're living in a false
    inner condition.

Now, there's only one cure for your inner chaos, which you hide from
yourself and others and which torments you day and night. You're a
tormented man or woman, aren't you? Say yes. Come on, this is the time
to be honest. You're not happy. You're not buoyant and cheerful. How can
you be with all of those heavy worries that you love so much, and we'll
get into that a little bit later.

You have to go through the experience of setting aside what you have
called valuable in the way of attitudes and beliefs and actions. You
have to go through a scary inner passage. You have to go through it, so
that you can come out on the other side and be an authentically happy
human being. Because your happiness now, your new happiness on the other
side of going through it is based on real values, on spiritual - yes,
yes, yes - on authentic spiritual principles, which is inner liberty."
