"Questioner: Why do negativities burn?
Vernon: First of all, let's take a look and see what we mean by a
negativity. It means essentially anything that is unnatural, that
doesn't belong to your true nature. Have you been angry today? Anger is a
negativity. You've been depressed, you felt persecuted, you felt
despondent today - these are negativities. Why do they burn? All
negativities indicate that you are apart from where you should be in
spiritual geography.
I'm not talking about the geography of North or South America but the
inner geography that you have. You have a certain inner location and you
are simply away from your homeland. Have you ever been a long ways from
home, maybe some of you men in the army somewhere and you were yearning to
get back home? All soldiers do when they are overseas somewhere. And you
ladies have gone on a long trip and you wish you were back home. You burned,
didn't you, or you yearned, the same thing. You yearned to get on back
home.
You want to know how to get rid of the burning? Come back home to where you
belong. Now the way is known. If you will make the inner effort, the
spiritual effort to come back home, the burning will disappear because you
are where you belong."
