"Over the years I have found the same kind of psychic weeds growing in the
mental gardens of those who fail; psychic weeds such as fear of the new and
unknown, mental laziness, refusal to use pain for gain, dishonesty, lack
of persistence, ignorance of spiritual facts, shallow values, hardened
attitudes, pride, imitation of hypocritical society, insincerity, influence
of negative people and unawareness of psychic hypnosis.

All of these can be rooted out, once and for all. Take the fear of the new
and unknown. A fisherman seeking refuge from a storm steered his boat into
a nearby bay. A friendly villager put him up for the night in a room next
to a fragrant rose garden. He could not sleep. By placing a sack of fish
near the pillow, he slept soundly.

We are like that. Our familiarity with the lesser makes us uncomfortable
with the greater. The fragrant life for which we yearn is wrongly seen as a
threat. Because of our blurred psychic vision, we mistake friend for enemy."
