As it Was in the Days of Noah

  • Finding Grace with God

The Lord isn't really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. He does not want anyone to be destroyed but wants everyone to repent. (2 Peter 3:6 NLT)

My child as it was in the days of Noah humanity welcomed evil. In Noah's day, evil angels lusted after women and indulged in sexual immorality and produced Nephilim's. (Genesis 6:1-4) I observed the wickedness on the earth, and it broke My heart. I was sorry I created these people. (Genesis 6:5) I told Noah I am going to cause water to fall out of the sky, so much that it is going to fill the earth. Build a boat big enough for two animals of each kind and your family. Judgment is coming, and if you do not put your faith in Me, you will be destroyed. (Genesis 6:6-7) Noah found grace/favor in the eyes of the Lord because he believed God. For 120 years Noah believed God and built an ark, and that is why he found favor in the sight of God. (Genesis 6:8-13) Noah was a preacher of righteousness. Every time he cut a tree or drove a nail, he was preaching God is going to judge the earth. There is coming a flood that will cover the earth. (Genesis 6:14-22) I instructed him to build the ark for him and his family, and two of each kind of animal, a male, and a female - the ark was to be 450 feet long. The only water humankind had seen was water that gushed up out of the ground.

Can you imagine the ridicule he experienced? (Genesis 7:1-24) There were days of discouragement, but Noah persisted. I waited patiently, while Noah was building his boat - 120 years for people to repent, but no one repented. There were around two to three billion people on the face of the earth, and only eight people saved from drowning in that terrible flood. For I did not spare even the angels who sinned. I threw them into hell, in gloomy pits of darkness, where they are being held until the day of judgment.  And I did not spare the ancient world-except for Noah and the seven others in his family. Noah warned the world of My righteous judgment. So, I protected Noah when I destroyed the world of ungodly people with a vast flood. (2 Peter 2:4-5 NLT)

Noah was not a perfect man, but he was counted as righteous because He believed Me and obeyed Me even when there was no evidence that there would be a flood. He built an ark by faith and had never seen rain! Noah's family members were covered because he believed and obeyed Me. (Hebrews 11:7) "However, no one knows the day or hour when these things will happen, not even the angels in heaven or the Son himself, I am the only one who knows.  "When the Son of Man returns, it will be like it was in Noah's day. In those days before the flood, the people were enjoying banquets and parties and weddings right up to the time Noah entered his boat.  People didn't realize what was going to happen until the flood came and swept them all away. That is the way it will be when the Son of Man comes. (Matthew 24:36-38 NLT) Once again sin is rampant in the earth. Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds!  'Now is the time to repent and be saved!' The good news is Noah found favor with Me. I saw Noah! You may be the only one who loves Me in your family, but I see you. I desire to lavish My Favor on you! What is the Favor of God? It is excessive kindness. I see you, and you have My Favor because you believe and obey Me!
