Love, Power, Authority in Total (1)

  • All Love, All Power, All Authority. We have it, because God said so. “It’s not proper to receive something from Christ and not use it to further the Kingdom. Whenever God invites you into His supernatural presence and gives you extreme revelation, He doesn’t invite you as a visitor, He invites you as an HEIR.” Those are two powerful quotes from Bill Johnson.

We have been given all of God’s love. God loves me and you as much as He loves Jesus. Jesus said that in John 17, which by the way is the true Lord’s prayer. That chapter is all about what Jesus said to the Father about us. With the exception of the first thirteen words in the King James Version, the entire chapter is in red signifying Jesus talking. Just look at John 17:23 (NLT).

“I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me”.

Now that’s what Jesus said. Also, Jesus said we have all authority in heaven and earth. In John 17:18, Jesus said “Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world”. Now there’s a truth declaration that requires a question be asked. How was Jesus sent into the world, because that will answer how we are sent. So I found in Matthew 28:18 the answer. Well, one of the answers on how He was sent, but it’s the one that supports the declaration that we have all authority in heaven and earth. Here’s what Jesus said – “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth”.

Now Jesus said both of those things, so I think I can say without fear of contradiction that I have been sent with all authority in heaven and earth. God’s people are walking around in defeat because they don’t realize the authority that has been given them.

Just look at Romans 8:17. “And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering”. Now I have to ask another question. What is God’s glory and what did Jesus say about it? Easy….back to John 17 and look at verse 22. “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one”.

Well, that settles the truth that we have been given the same glory that God gave to Jesus, but now I ask yet another question. What glory? For the answer, I’m sticking with what Jesus said in his prayer to the Father in John 17. Look at verse 5. “Now, Father, bring me into the glory we shared before the world began.” So, now I can say without fear of contradiction that I have the same glory that Jesus shared with His Father before the world began.

Ephesians 2:19 says “Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God”. So, from the therefore, you are of the household of God, but we need to find out why. Just back up to Ephesians 2:13. It’s says that we have been made nigh by the blood of Jesus. It’s all in Him. God did something that works for everyone. Doesn’t matter what denomination you are, it works for everyone if they are saved by the blood of Jesus.

Since we are of the household of God, we have authority. John 16:27 says the Father loves us, because we have loved Jesus and believed….Not because we’re so holy, or so good, or because we read our bible everyday, not because we give or go to church. It’s because we have faith in Jesus. That’s God’s great Grace.

We are saved by grace, but then most of the church world tells us that now that we’re saved, we have to perform. That’s trusting in your holiness, your goodness, your righteousness. So how do we continue in the faith? The same way we started. Col 2:6 says “And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him”. Put your faith in the finished work of the cross and rest there. It doesn’t say to pick up your shovel and go to work, or agree to every church task that someone tries to guilt you into performing. That’s living under bondage and legalism.

Look at what Phil 2:13 says. Here it is in the NLT. “God is working in you, giving you the desire to obey Him and the power to do what pleases Him”. The Living Bible says it this way. “for God is at work within you, helping you want to obey Him, and then helping you do what He wants”. Now if you study that just for a moment, you’ll see that God is doing it all. Our part is simply to let Him and rest in His laboring for us. We are told we can’t get anything from God unless we perform. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG!

God loves you. The problem is that the average Christian doesn’t believe that. They are frustrated because of the works oriented mentality. God is not withholding anything from you, but religion has duped you into thinking you have to perform for God in order to please God. Now either that’s a lie, or Matt 6:33 is a lie. We please God most not when we try to make ourselves good or when we try to perform for God or adhere to a set of man-made rules. We please God most when we throw ourselves into His arms with all our imperfections and failures.

Now that's just the beginning. Look for part 2 and rest in the knowledge that God loves you as much as He loves Jesus. Grace and Peace.
